Olivia's Story:
I believe it is extremely important to know and understand what your students relationship to technology is for many reasons. If you assign a homework assignment or a project that has to do with using a computer or a cell phone and a student does not have either you must make an accommodation for that student. However if there are multiple students that don't have any connections to technology as a teacher you must change the assignment. I also think it is extremely important to ask students before if they have a relationship with technology because some students may not be comfortable telling the teacher.
"Learning to Change, Changing to Learn":
These students use every different type of technology such as cell phone, internet, ipods, video games, and many different internet sites. Each student uses there type of technology to communicate with the world as well as learn anything new such as the news, new music, or new video games.

- All three of these types of technology have impacted the way I learn information. Because two of these are social media it is extremely common that these websites help me learn about news a lot faster. When I was not on these sites I would have to learn about the news through watching TV or reading the newspaper. So in this aspect I believe that these social media websites have been a positive impact on my life. This is also similar with texting, I always carry my phone which makes it easier to just receive a text about what is going on in the world.
- Facebook and Twitter are extremely similar to Myspace therefor these two technologies relate to Olivia's video. She goes on Myspace to see what people are up too and check what is going on. She also goes on to update her profile, which is the same thing as facebook, and similar to twitter. However in Olivia's video she does not have a computer in her house so she has to go to somewhere to use one which is not the same for me. I could use my computer at any time so I do not sit on these websites for hours like Olivia stated in her video. The second video relates more to my third type of technology, texting. The video states that young people carry their phones constantly so texting is fast and very convenient, which is the same reason why I have texting listed on my list.
As I read your post, I was not sure I agreed with you that texting is an influential technology of our time. However, after I thought about how much I text everyday I began to see your point. For example, tonight I received a text message from my best friend saying her sister had just been in a bad accident. She texted me the details from the intensive care unit of our hospital. Because of texting she was able to relay this information to me immediately. She could not make a phone call while she was in the hospital room, however she could text. This situation made me see just how important and influential texting is as a form of communication today.
